From Essex, England, this variety dates back to the 18th century. A green skinned, russeted apple usually with a beautiful red kissed cheek. This heirloom has a crisp, aromatic, nutmeg flavor. Traditionally, this apple is picked on Guy Fawkes Day and hung in cloth bags from the tree limbs until December. D'Arcy Spice is a one of a kind apple that is a favorite here at the farm. This variety is excellent eaten out of hand and versatile enough for baking, juice, or cider.
